Interesting Stuff??

Books are cool ~ Books are fun ~ Books are informative ~ Books can take you to other worlds ~ Or to the future ~ Or back in time ~ Did I say books are cool? Well, they are.

I am wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend. I have a creative soul and my outlets are writing books, reading, and crafting.

I grew up in Freeland, Michigan, a small farming town, in a rural area, and the wide-open space was my range. As a kid, I took full of advantage of that space and the freedom it offered as my sister and I rode our horses (sometimes bareback) for miles and miles. Neighbors were friends, and most everyone, whether town folks or farm folks, knew each other.

After high school, I met my husband, Craig, and we eventually moved to another small town in Michigan and raised our two girls in Beaverton, MI – on Wixom Lake. Summers were filled with boat rides, swimming, knee-boarding, water skiing, backyard barbeques and bonfires. And during the cold of winter, you would find our family out on the snowmobiles, or ice fishing.

I worked for The Dow Chemical Company for 25 years, retiring to Gaylord, Michigan where Craig and I built our retirement home and pole barn on 20 rural acres. (It’s like a flashback to my childhood.) I like to volunteer in the community, with a local pregnancy resource center, and with my church. I’ve been a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators for many years and I write picture books, middle grade and dabble in YA.

Other Writing Experiences

Freelance Writing
I’ve enjoyed writing articles for an on-line Christian magazing: Faith Filled Family Magazine.

Skits
When our church asks for writers to create skits, I’m always willing to do so. I’ve written several short skits over the past two years.

Other: I have several picture books (and two novels) in progress.
